About Me - Professionally
Hi! What might be helpful to know about my professional background? Throughout a very dynamic journey, I have learned that connecting with others is one of my most natural experiences. I have a bachelor's degree of arts with a double major in Political Science and Spanish from The University of North Texas, much of which I completed in Mexico (where I also worked for the consulate of Canada in Guadalajara, Jalisco). Over the course of almost 20 years, I have taught in public, private, and non-profit schools, both conventional and Montessori, as well as an orphanage. While teaching, I always took delight in being the teacher who students sought out, who parents connected with, who staff called upon for support, especially for those students with behaviors or learning styles that didn't respond within the scripted protocols. I hold four certifications for teaching in Texas and have served on countless committees including as campus DEIB project coordinator. I constantly undertook professional developments and studies to best understand the many ways we think, feel, learn, and, of course, how to integrate that into achieving the quality of life that we aspire for students, which led me to my current career.

In August of 2024, I graduated summa cum laude from Lamar University in Counseling and Human Development having completed the Marriage and Family Therapist and Licensed Professional Counselor programs. In addition to building a private practice, I also worked as a Crisis Intervention Specialist in community mental health. I completed all LPC Associate hours and requirements sooner than the 18-month minimum and received full licensure March 2026. LPC license # is 96464, verifiable here.
About Me - Personally
(or more importantly... About My Pets)
I am kind, caring, funny, and contagiously full of life!
I love hiking, adventuring, learning new languages, traveling, geeking out on brain science, trying new food spots, and enjoying live music.
I love lounging with my dog, Pixie. I love having tea with my chickens, Mydoria and Big Mama who came from a classroom incubation project! Of course, snuggling up with a good book and any of my cuddly cats, Kowl, Citrina, and Yoshi. I can’t forget playtime with Bunny who’s an absolute doll and is known to visit some sessions!
